Baphomets Fluch 2.5 is a fan game follow up to the Broken Sword series of adventure games about the Templars. It follows the structure of the original games very closely and is meant for long time fans.
Just because it is fan made does not mean they skimp on the production values. The graphics, art, and sound are all excellent and could even be considered retail quality. There is quality voice acting and everything works together to bring back the feel of the original games only at higher quality. The game has options for German and English voices, and also French subtitles.
The puzzle gameplay is good, although the puzzles can be a bit easy. Of course this reduces the chances of becoming frustrated with the game, and it is really up to the individual player to decide how difficult they like their puzzle games. Besides the difficultly, the puzzles are clever, intuitive, and fit the narrative well, never feeling like they have been shoehorned in just to add content.
The writing is very good for a fan game, although longtime fans may have an issue with a few of the choices offered in the game. Overall a very good game, and it is also released free, since it is a fan production.
