Built on the innovative "Cube" engine, "Cube 2: Sauerbraten" is an instantly engaging and addictive first-person shooter. Its unique but compelling weapons system provides the player with all the expected tools of the trade, including machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, and the futuristic plasma cannon. However, unlike most other multiplayer FPS games, where one player can dominate the round with a particular weapon, every player is on even footing, starting with the same arsenal. The resulting gameplay is a fast-paced maelstrom of snatching up the matching ammunition in heated run-and-gun skirmishes.
Sprinkled on top are all the game modes you've come to love, and then some. Free-for-all, team deathmatch, capture-the-flag, domination, and other team objective based modes are available to select. What will keep you and your friends riveted by this title, however, is the creative mode. The Cube engine was designed to allow players to edit and build upon the game environment in real-time, so that you can create your own arenas to fight in, or collaboratively construct works of three-dimensional art.
If that weren't enough, Cube 2 Sauerbraten is free. Weighing in at less than a gigabyte and with hardware requirements that scale to a wide range of computer hardware, providing phenomenal performance on even a low-end office computer, this title is a jump-in-and-play FPS that packs a serious punch.
