Nelly Cootalot is a point n' click adventure game developed independently by Alasdair Beckett. You play the title character, who must find out what happened to the Spoonbeak birds and why they have disappeared from the Isle of Meethe.
The game is relatively simple, and probably won't be too challenging if you are a veteran of puzzle or adventure games. The puzzles are quick to solve and the solution to anything is never far away. There are lots of little bits and pieces to collect and people to talk to.
The writing is excellent, with lots of cute and silly characters to watch and interact with. The only problem is you can't speed up or skip dialogue so if you've already talked to somebody or are replaying the game, you have to wait. If you are impatient this might really annoy you.
The graphics are charming and use a hand-drawn look that really lends itself to this style (and budget) of game.
If adventure games are your thing, this is easily worth a try, especially since it is free!
