Reversi Deluxe takes the original Reversi concept and enhances it in a number of challenging ways. Traditional Reversi, also called Othello, which is a brand name, is a game that combines elements of Go and Chess and is played with discs on an equal-sided board. The traditional colors are black and white, although Othello by Pressman Games popularized green and white. In addition, the standard board size is 8x8, but people also play on boards as small as 6x6 and as large as 12x12.
Reversi Deluxe is a two-player game, and it supports human versus human as well as human versus computer. In addition to the standard match, it has leaderboards, time trials, tournaments and the Reversi Cup. Reversi Deluxe does not require an Internet connection, but when it has access to one, it automatically connects to the Reversi Deluxe servers. Through these servers, the player can find matches, compete in events and record their scores for the leaderboard.
