As far as Star Wars video games go, most gamers turn to Knights of the Old Republic and other games where they can play as a Jedi. Well, lightsabers are great, but what about the commandos who work as the backbone for the republic?
Star Wars Republic Commando puts you in commando of Delta Squad, a team entrusted to carryout behind-the-scenes missions the results of which Star Wars fans might recognize from the movies. With gameplay that allows you to command each member of your squad to a different task, players will get a similar feel to Rainbow Six, only this time you experience it in the Star Wars universe. While players run through the rather brief single-player campaign, they will battle assault droids, Geonosians and several other memorable enemies as they fight to complete their mission.
The only downfall of the game is how short it is. There are only 10 hours of solid gameplay, slightly augmented by confusing and rather unenjoyable multiplayer maps. Still, the game has a lot to offer in the way of teammate AI and amazing visual effects. Star Wars Republic Commando is not one to miss if you are a fan of the series.
