Warhammer 40000 Space Marine is a third person action game where you take the role of one of the Emperor's finest warriors, a space marine. You land on a besieged planet to fight hordes of vicious orks and save the beleaguered defenders from a terrible fate.
In Space Marine, you move through rather small levels and fight wave after wave of enemies. You get a few different attacks and some powerups and upgrades, but combat is basically the same. It's good then that the combat is very energetic and visceral, with lots of explosions, gore, and special moves showing your combat prowess. The graphics are very well done, with a lot of detail and bright colors showing a destroyed, grim world. The enemies have a fair amount of variety and offer a decent challenge. The story is nothing special, with a twist that anyone can see coming. There is also multiplayer which is a good a bit of fun but it is doubtful to be busy for long. The game is a lot of fun for any Warhammer 40k fan, and probably a good time for others too. Definitely worth trying the demo.
