Zelda Classic, more commonly known as The Legend Of Zelda, is the first game in the Legend Of Zelda series. This game was originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and is considered by many video game enthusiasts as one of the classic and iconic games in video game history. Your character, Link, must traverse through the kingdom of Hyrule, find the eight pieces of the Triforce of Power, and defeat Ganon. Though the graphics are archaic compared to today's standards, the game represented the latest in graphic advancement when it was first published. Even today, the game is still a pleasure to play, due to its simplicity and innovation. The game works as a action-adventure top-down scroller with many puzzle-solving elements and exploration. Combat in the game is simple, but also very challenging due to the many ways enemies can attack you as well as the ways you can combat enemies. In addition to your main weapon, a sword, you also have other side weapons at your disposal, including bombs, arrows, and boomerangs. Combined with a massive map to explore, the game has cemented its status as a video game classic that has to be tried, no matter the generation of the player.
