Alien Swarm is a free 4 player co op game released by Valve. In it you pick one of 4 classes and join 3 other players in exploring levels, completing objectives, and blasting aliens. Each class has several unlocks that you earn through experience and several skills to use to defeat the alien horde. The game is top down and plays like a twin stick shooter. It flows well and each level has a lot of different objective and bosses. There is some great atmosphere, lots of foreboding, abandoned bases and dark hallways. The graphics and sound really add to the feel of the game and draw you in. Not only is this game genuinely a lot of fun, but its free! The main complaint is that there are only 5 levels, each of which can be done in half an hour or so. The only other complaint is that single player with bots can be boring and painful, as the bots are really unhelpful and useless. But it is a ton of fun with 3 friends and not to be missed.
