The Ghosts version of Call of Duty features the impermanence of a nation on the brink of survival, 10 years after a devastating mass event that threatens more than the borders and global balance. This mass event still threatens the survival of the residents of the nation itself, with the ghosts referring to a ghosting that has already taken place as residents die off. The word ghosts also refers to the Special Operations forces, a group that has emerged to help to fight back the powers that are rising on the planet in the face of the mass event. In the wake of the devastation, new global lines are being drawn. Technologically-superior forces are threatening takeovers, and may just stamp out the nation if the people don't do something about it.
In this game of strategy, you as a player get to try your hand at the situation while also creating a soldier for the Special Operations force. In this way, you are called to respond to the alleged technologically-superior global powers, which are threatening to stamp out the nation's chance at rebirth.
