Dimenxian
Dimenxian is one of those gems that comes from the advancement of technology. I wish learning tools like this would have been around when I was in school, but I'm just thankful they're around now.
This game doubles as a math tutor and a first-person action game. I went searching for learning games to help my son grasp algebra. Math has never been his strong suit, so I wanted to try out something different to see if it would help.
We had to sit down together to figure out the gameplay, but after the initial training phase, he was comfortable enough to progress through the game on his own.
The best thing about the game is the training lessons. Instead of having to listen to a teacher drone on about an x axis and various formulas, the game creates an interactive learning environment. Learning each math lesson one step at a time ensures that students understand the step before moving on to the next one.
Although learning math in a classroom setting is preferable, Dimenxian is a valuable supplementary tool for anyone who enjoys math or needs help in that particular school subject.
