Doom Legacy is a very interesting product. A "source port" by fans of the classic first-person shooter Doom, it seeks to bring the old game into the modern era for Windows, Linux, and Apple operating systems. It features modifications to the original game, including online matchmaking for competitive play, improved graphic resolution, OpenGL graphics, DirectSound 3D, mouse aim/crosshairs, jumping, and support for up to 32 players in a match at the same time. For those that are nostalgic about first-person shooters and are looking for a fresh spin on a game they grew up on, Doom Legacy is well worth the download. As a bonus, it is home to a large library of user-generated content for download such as maps and custom character skins, so your experience will stay fresh for quite some time.
