Dragon Ball Z is a fun game that involves quite a few martial arts components.

There are numerous modes to choose from as soon as you view the menu on the home screen. No matter which mode you choose, you can select a character that you can somewhat customize. The Dragon Ball Z features are there, but you can change some of the colors and the powers of the player later in the game as you earn more points and more skills. The arcade mode is where you play one on one with either another person who is online or the computer. If you like playing as a team, then play the Team VS as this will give you a better chance to see some of the other player's skills and find out where you need to improve.

Before you play against anyone, it's best to go through the training mode. This is where you'll learn about all of the movements and the specials that you have in the game. If you're not ready to fight or train, then enter the watch mode where you can simply view what others do in the game. This mode can also give you an idea as to where you need to improve and some of the secrets that are in the game that can get you ahead. There are over 30 characters in the game and a number of maps to complete. Graphics are decent, and the music is fun, bringing you back to when the game initially came out on any system.

Pros

  • Several maps
  • Many modes to play
  • Easy to load

Cons

  • Can be confusing if you don't know the characters
