From the moment it came out, Halo was instant video game classic. While the console version of this game broke records at the time for the number of copies sold, many websites were quick to proclaim this the "game of the year".
Today, Halo is still a great, timeless game. You play the Master Chief, a lone soldier who crash lands on a newly discovered ring world. Unfortunately, that world has also been discovered by a coalition of alien species that Earth has been at war with for a while.
This game includes a lot of content and hundreds of hours of playtime. More than just a simple first person shooter, Halo also incorporates problem solving and it has seamlessly integrated alternative games such as a car race. Despite the fact that this game was released over a decade ago, Halo still has beautiful graphics. Each level is distinctive, and it's possible to play the game multiple times without getting bored.
The multi-player options for Halo are also great. Playing this game online allows you to compete with thousands of players on hundreds of designer and user generated maps. While this part of the game is mechanically simple, it's one of the most addictive parts of the game.
