Paint the Town Red is a unique action game from South East Games that pits the player against an environment, and the player must use anything and everything at their disposal to survive, while simultaneously 'painting the town red' with the blood of the victims.
This game is still in Early Access on Steam, which basically means it's in Beta at the moment, but the preview of the game is enough to get players excited for the full thing. The objective of the game is straightforward. Players start off in random locations throughout history that are seemingly normal, like a dance club or a bar, and they must stab, hit, slice, shoot, and destroy anything and anyone in their way.
In order to succeed in this game, players will need fast reflexes, the patience to play levels over and over, and the impatience to strike before waiting to know why. The game can be brutal at times, but that action is part of what keeps players so engaged.
When players first start a level, everything will appear normal. Nothing will change until the player decides to harm one of the computer-generated characters. This could be something as simple as a slap or as murderous as a stabbing. Once the violence starts, the rest of the non-playable characters will start trying to fight back against the player. At that point, the player can either survive or succumb to the will of the angry mob they have created.
Players are going to die many times in this game, but that is basically the point. Trial and error is quite helpful in Paint the Town Red, and once the game is complete, it is sure to be supremely addictive.PROS
