Penumbra: Black Plague is a unique adventure game for the computer that combines aspects of survival horror, first-person shooter and puzzle game genres. The storyline is gripping and once in the game, which takes place in an abandoned research facility, it is hard for players to just stop since one never knows what is going to happen next.
The graphics are good, but the realistic physics and highly interactive environments make Penumbra: Black Plague stand out from other games. Players have to actually think about their actions and move objects around in order to progress or solve puzzles.
The main gripe that players have with Penumbra: Black Plague is that it is too short. The game can be completed in less than ten hours of gameplay, but the many details and complex puzzles make it fun to repeat.
