"The Marionette" is a freeware, first-person point-and-click adventure game from Team Effigy that explores the idea of hidden influences controlling one's life. Players assume the role of Martin, a young sculptor who wakes up in his car outside a mysterious house. The home belongs to an enigmatic young woman named Alice who leaves clues to guide Martin in his attempt to escape the house and reclaim his old life.
Each room of the house depicts scenes from Martin's life, providing insight into Martin's true character and offering explanations into why he is who he is. However, some of the memories may belong to Alice and not Martin, making the journey of discovery all the more complicated. Before Martin can piece together his identity, players must solve puzzles and figure out how to leave each room, as none of the rooms have obvious exits.
