What is Necesse?

In an infinite procedurally generated world, you gather resources, craft gear, explore biomes and dungeons, fight monsters and bosses, and build a settlement. Recruited settlers can farm, mine, craft, and defend the village, while quests and expeditions lead to pirate kings, dragons, and fallen wizards. You can play alone, cooperatively, or in PvP.

Players often praise the settlement system, particularly assigning settlers to farming, mining, crafting, and storage tasks, as well as the co-op play. The most common complaint is that progression loses variety late in the game, when repeated maps and stronger versions of familiar bosses turn the endgame into a grind. Some players also find combat clunky and bosses too durable.
