What is The Spirit of the Samurai?

This single-player 2D action-adventure follows Takeshi, a samurai defending his village from an Oni's undead army. You play as Takeshi, a small spirit, and a warrior cat through levels inspired by Japanese mythology, fighting monsters, navigating platforms, and searching ruined villages, caves, and cemeteries for secrets. Gaining experience lets you improve stats and unlock moves.
