What is Magic Research?

Magic Research is a text-based incremental game about leading a new magic school toward the Tournament of Magic. You research types of magic, cast spells, build the campus, and manage researchers, apprentices, resources, and combat. Retirement begins another run with bonuses, while hidden storylines can permanently change the game.

For you if...

  • +you enjoy managing resources and discovering new systems
  • +you like planning around challenging boss fights
  • +you want story discoveries woven into incremental progression

Not for you if...

  • you want an idle game that requires little input
  • you dislike restarting progress to gain permanent bonuses
  • you prefer visuals to a text-heavy, stat-focused interface
