What is Pixel Descent?
This 2D twin-stick dungeon roguelite sends you into an abyss to investigate the old world after a contract cuts you off from the surface. You shoot monsters and dodge dense projectile patterns across floors drawn from a pool of maps with randomized elements. Death ends a run, but you can buy permanent upgrades; you can play solo or in local co-op.
For you if...
- +you enjoy twin-stick shooting and dodging dense projectiles
- +you like repeated dungeon runs with permanent progression
- +you want local co-op dungeon crawling with friends
Not for you if...
- −you want uninterrupted progress without permadeath
- −you prefer calm combat without crowded projectile patterns
What players say
84% of 141 reviews are positive
Players often praise the arcade-style dungeon combat and its resemblance to Gauntlet; some also praise the music. The recurring complaint is that upgrades feel too minor.
