What is Monsters are Coming!?
This single-player action roguelite combines tower defense with resource gathering as you lead humanity toward the Ark. During each run, you fight monsters, collect wood, stone, and gold, and place defensive towers and districts. Resources fuel, repair, and expand the city, while earned compasses help future attempts. Your hero can fall without ending a run; only the city's destruction ends it.
For you if...
- +you like balancing resource gathering against pressure from enemy hordes
- +you enjoy planning tower layouts around different defensive structures
Not for you if...
- −you prefer fixed builds over randomized upgrade choices
- −you want cooperative play rather than a solo game
What players say
78% of 2,837 reviews are positive · 78% of 64 in the last 30 days
Players praise the moving-fortress concept and progression system. Newer feedback is more positive about currency gains and run variety, though some players still find the loop repetitive. Recurring complaints include unclear descriptions and challenge requirements, plus performance problems late in runs.
