What we know: The developers posted three AMA updates between April and June 2026, following an earlier update and a developer blog about a laser puzzle.

What is Operation: Black Mesa?

This fan-made first-person shooter reimagines Half-Life: Opposing Force and Blue Shift in two single-player campaigns set during the Black Mesa Incident. You play as security guard Barney Calhoun and Corporal Adrian Shephard, surviving a disastrous shift and trying to escape the facility.
