What is Balrum?

Balrum is a single-player isometric fantasy RPG set in an open world that moves in real time outside turn-based combat. You play a young man whose sheltered life in Darkwood is disrupted, exploring dungeons, taking quests, fighting enemies, crafting items, farming crops, and building a home.

For you if...

  • +you enjoy exploring large fantasy worlds at your own pace
  • +you like mixing turn-based battles with crafting and farming
  • +you want to shape a character through skills and abilities

Not for you if...

  • you want a tightly guided route through the story
  • you dislike difficult turn-based fights and careful character builds
  • you prefer exploring without survival tasks or resource gathering

What players say

79% of 807 reviews are positive

Players praise the size of the world, the freedom to explore, and the range of activities beyond combat. Common complaints include slow progression, difficult combat, unclear quest guidance, and awkward movement controls.
