What is Homicide Desk?
This single-player detective simulation takes place on a police computer in Ravenport, a fictional port city. You investigate homicides by reading case files, comparing records and photos, solving timed forensic puzzles, and questioning suspects in your own words. You connect evidence, write deductions, and decide whom to charge; reopening a solved case can change the culprit.
For you if...
- +you enjoy text-heavy investigations that require independent deductions
- +you like forensic puzzles alongside interviewing suspects
Not for you if...
- −you want clear guidance on where to investigate next
- −you prefer dialogue menus over typing your own questions
What players say
68% of 94 reviews are positive
Players praise the freedom of open-ended questioning and assembling evidence themselves. Their main complaint is that AI-driven suspects misunderstand questions, contradict case details, or invent information, with some players also reporting blocked or lost progress. Several find the culprits too obvious and the motives repetitive.

Does Homicide Desk use AI-generated content?
Yes. The developers disclose AI-generated content on the game's Steam page:
AI is used for one thing: suspect and witness replies during interrogation. Every case, the crime, the evidence, the suspects, the solution and the endings ,is fully hand-written. When you question a suspect, an AI language model phrases their reply live from what you ask and the evidence you present, constrained to the written facts of the case. The model ships inside the game and runs entirely on your PC, no server, no account, no internet connection, nothing you type leaves your computer. Output is text only, in-character, length-limited and filtered.
The statement mentions: AI active during playText & translations
Self-reported by the developer under Steam rules: it covers AI content that ships in the game, not tools used to make it. Steam page checked on Oct 27, 2026. How to filter AI games on Steam
