What is Egress?
Egress is a third-person action RPG built around multiplayer arena battles in Insmouth, a city mixing neon, Victorian influences and Lovecraftian horror. You choose a character and faction, collect artifacts, and fight monsters and rival players with melee attacks, dodges and abilities. Floods and waves of madness change the difficulty as you investigate what is happening to the city.
For you if...
- +you enjoy demanding melee fights against other players
- +you like adapting your tactics through equipment and consumables
Not for you if...
- −you want a relaxed game without competitive pressure
- −you want a primarily story-driven single-player game
What players say
63% of 128 reviews are positive
Players praise the visual style and character variety, but repeatedly report an inactive player base and a lack of continued development. Older reviews also criticize stiff movement and combat.
