What is HyperParasite?
You play an alien bent on destroying humanity in this top-down action game set in an eighties-inspired dystopia. Runs span five acts of procedurally generated streets, where you take over human hosts and fight using their distinct attacks. If a host dies, you must find another; a single hit to your exposed parasite can end the run.
For you if...
- +you want to share runs in two-player local co-op
- +you enjoy movie and game references from the eighties
Not for you if...
- −you want forgiving combat and quick progression
What players say
84% of 105 reviews are positive
Players praise the possession mechanic, combat, visual style, and music. They criticize slow host unlocks and unrewarding progression; some also report crashes. A recent reviewer welcomes the optional mode that unlocks all hosts immediately, while other players still find the difficulty frustrating even with that mode.
