What is 1976 - Back to midway?
In this single-player VR shooter, you travel from a Nazi-ruled 1976 to World War II air battles to change history. You shoot down enemies and dodge incoming fire across 16 story levels, alternating between a vertically scrolling battlefield on a virtual screen and first-person aircraft sections.
For you if...
- +you like replaying earlier levels with upgraded aircraft
- +you prefer straightforward shooting against escalating waves of enemies
Not for you if...
- −you want realistic flight simulation rather than arcade shooting
- −you want cooperative missions rather than solo play
What players say
88% of 131 reviews are positive
Players praise the retro arcade presentation and transitions into first-person sections. Some criticize awkward controls and find the cockpit sections weaker than the top-down action.
