Does Towns of Yore use AI-generated content?
Yes. The developers disclose AI-generated content on the game's Steam page:
There is no AI generated content in the game, and we don't use AI to generate content or assets for the game. During a previous playtest we found out that some assets from a third-party-pack from the marketplace, that we used in game as placeholders for icons, might have been created using generative AI, even though the seller did not explicitly state this. We removed these assets from the game just to be sure.
Self-reported by the developer under Steam rules: it covers AI content that ships in the game, not tools used to make it. Steam page checked on Nov 5, 2026. How to filter AI games on Steam
